Image solutions
Mostphotos offers different image solutions depending on how many or how often you need images.
Monthly package
When you buy a monthly package, Mostphotos automatically charges you every month, or as agreed, on an ongoing basis. If you want to cancel your subscription, you can easily do this through your billing page. Just go to Menu > Image plan & purchases > Billing & image plans > Cancel subscription. You cancel the next payment immediately as soon as you cancel the subscription.
Download Package
When you purchase a download package, the package is valid for 12 months, or as agreed. The package renews automatically unless you opt out of that feature. When renewing, you always keep the number of images you have left from your previous package, which is then added to your new one, a so-called roll-over. If you want to cancel your package, you can do so by contacting us.
Click here for more information about our prices.

Commercial vs. Editorial
All images on Mostphotos are non-exclusive and can therefore be sold repeatedly.
Commercial license means that the contributor has a written agreement (a model release) from all the people, trademark, logo, or companies in the image. This means that the image can be used in a commercial context and basically any other context as well. For instance, in advertising for different products, causes or events.
Editorial license means that the contributor doesn’t have a written agreement e.g., a model release. These images can therefore only be used in news context and in relation to who/what the image portrays, for instance in newspapers.
If you are a buyer, you also need to be aware of the license and know which one to use.
You can also use our filters to only show commercial images when you search for images in the image bank. Please note that you may not use the images in any context that can be offensive to the contributor or model.
If you are a contributor, you mark your images with a commercial or an editorial license before you publish the images.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
Organizations & sub-accounts
As soon as you’ve registered as a company you get a multi-user license that makes it possible to create sub accounts. This enables for other people in your organization to get access to all the downloaded images as well as the image solution. All downloaded images will be available for all users in the organization to download them as many times as they like.
Go to the homepage and press “colleagues” to create sub-accounts. Fill out the information needed and send an invitation. Please note! You can’t invite an e-mail that already has a user at Mostphotos. Contact the person and ask them to delete their account before you send them a new invitation.
When you invite your colleagues to join your organization, the new users get their own sub-account with their own username and password, which gives you better security and control. Moreover, you can get statistics of who downloads what and how many images your organization have downloaded under a certain period.
You are also able to create groups with special permissions by dividing your users in different teams. This feature provides a better overview of your organization’s image consumption.
When one of your colleagues quits you can easily just remove their account by clicking on their name when you’ve entered “colleagues”.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
Digital modification
This differs slightly depending on the license of the image you downloaded.
Commercial content: You can edit and change commercial content as you wish. However, you must stay within reasonable limits and use common sense. For example, you should not insert inappropriate speech bubbles that could be considered offensive or unethical on the images.
Editorial content: Editorial content may not be modified or otherwise altered from its original state, except to prune the editorial content in such a way that it does not substantially alter the original state.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have more questions or need help. -
Can I use the images on logos?
To be able to use images on logos you need a certain license. Only the Royalty-Free Unlimited License makes it possible for you to use the images on logos.
However, you should bear in mind that others are able to buy the images as well.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
Download the same image again
Once you have bought an image it will be available for you to download at any time and as many times as you want.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
How do I access my purchased images?
After you’ve purchased an image, you’ll be able to find it under “Downloaded images”. Once it purchased it’s possible for you to download it as many times as you like. There is where you’ll always find all your purchased images and you can also find information regarding bylines for the images.
You can also access all your receipts for the specific image from this page.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
Model release guarantee
All contributors at Mostphotos have contractually agreed that the images they upload as commercial royalty free always have the model's written approval. This means that you can buy the images in good faith.
You can always contact us before you purchase an image if you’re concerned. The contributors are not obliged to upload the releases to Mostphotos, only to be available if requested.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
Our licenses
All images have a non-exclusive license and can therefore be sold to many different buyers. Browse the legal agreement to read more about these various licenses. Here is a summary:
Editorial images
The contributor does not need to have written consent from the people/trademark/company in the image. Hence, these images can only be used in news context and in relation to whom/what the image portrays, for instance in a newspaper article.
Commercial images
The contributor has written consent from the people/trademark/company in the image. This image can be used in commercial context (and basically any other context as well), for instance in advertising/promotion of a new product or event. With this license you can use the content/images in countless editions. If you for example print the image on informative folders that are not for sale, you can print as many as you want. However, this license does not support any kind of resale.
Commercial Extended License
This image can be used in commercial context, for instance in advertising and promotional material. With this license you have the right to print the content/image on a maximum of 1 000 products for resale. For example, on posters, t-shirts, canvas prints, mobile-apps, and postcards.
Commercial Unlimited License
This image can be used in commercial context, for instance in advertising and promotional material. With this license you can print the content/image on unlimited numbers of products for resale or distribution, for example posters, t-shirts, canvas prints, mobile-apps, and postcards. With this license you also get to use the image for a logo.

How do I invite a colleague?
To be able to invite a colleague you’ll need to have administrative rights. Then you can easily add a user by logging in to your account, clicking on "colleagues" and then "invite a new colleague". Fill in all required information and then the new user will receive an invitation to their email.

Is it the same price regardless of Image size?
All images can be bought in size Medium or Large. When purchasing them as a single image you can find the price directly on the site when you find an image you like, where you’ll see the difference.
If you buy an image solution, there won’t be a price difference on the sizes. Please note that every size of the image will cost you one download which means that a Medium will cost you as much as a Large.

How to tag your images
To tag your images, go to Upload and edit > Mediacloud > Library and mark the image you would like to tag. Add the relevant information (language, title, description, keywords and license) in the toolbox on the right-hand side of the window.
You can select one or multiple files when tagging your images. Multi-select by using CTRL (PC), or CMD (MAC). If you have selected more than one image, you’ll need to click on the "Save" button that appears. If you’ve just marked/made changes to one image, the changes will be saved automatically.
Language Mostphotos will automatically translate the name, description, and keywords of your images. This is done so that buyers using other languages can find your images.
When tagging, you should not mix languages. Stick to one language when you enter the name, description, and keywords to your image.
Keywords You need to tag your images with at least 2 keywords to be able to publish them and make it possible for potential buyers to find them at the website.
The more relevant keywords you have the better, but do not have to many keywords, since this doesn’t benefit your portfolio. It might be classified as spam. We recommend 5-15 keywords per image.
Avoid using common tags such as “dog” or “flower”, since the site is flooded with these kinds of descriptions. Try instead to think of more unique tags such as “Doberman puppy” or “red rose”.
Name and description The name and description are also important, mainly for search engine optimization. The more relevant text there is explaining the image the better it is for search engine web crawlers. Entering name and description increases the chance for your images to be visible on for example Google. Therefore, insert relevant text and use words that are directly related to your image. Be descriptive and describe exactly what the image shows.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
What does Royalty Free mean?
All images on Mostphotos are sold under Mostphotos Royalty free model.
This means that:
- You can sell the images over and over again.
- Mostphotos does not require exclusivity. You can sell your images through other sites as well.
- You only sell the right to use your images and nothing else. The copyright always remains with you.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
Can I see who bought my images?
In most cases you cannot see who bought your images. However, some buyers will display their VAT number that you can look up. This information is available on the image sale receipt, found in your sales on your account.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
Earnings from image sales
Your earnings from image sales depend on how the image was purchased. Customers purchase images in 3 different ways on Mostphotos:
- Through subscriptions (also called monthly plans)
- Through download packages
- As single images
The pricing differs depending on how the image was purchased, but you as the Contributor will always receive 50% of the price (the sales amount).
For a current price list, please see our pricingpricing. Please note that the list of Monthly Plans is not complete on the pricing page and that more sizes/types exist.
Most of our images are sold through monthly plans and our customers are mainly based in the Nordic region in sectors such as publishing, media, and the public sector.
Each image sale, regardless of what price it was sold for, contributes equally to the overall ranking of your image portfolio in the search results.

Withdrawals
A notification will be sent to you when you’ve sold an image and the amount will be added to your balance on the account. When you’ve reached the withdrawal limit of 35 EUR you will be able to request a payment to your Paypal account or to your regular bank account with an IBAN number.
Once you have requested a withdrawal the money will be transferred within thirty (30) days after you have correctly used the “Withdraw” function.
You can see your current balance beside the “menu” in the upper right field. If you want to withdraw the money, press the balance, then “Request withdrawal” on the following site and follow the instructions. Mostphotos obtains the right to offer the payment service that is available at the time of the withdrawal.
Debt over 5 years old will be forfeit if no new Content has been published by the Contributor for 5 years or more.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
How does the review process work?
When you publish images, they will be visible immediately on the marketplace. However, the formats of your content need be jpeg, .eps or .ai.
Mostphotos' image ranking algorithm will sort the content so that popular images are shown first in the search results. The image ranking algorithm takes into account several parameters, the most important is the number of images sold in your portfolio.
As a contributor, it is important that you verify the license of your images, either Editorial or Commercial. For the Commercial images you may need model and/or property release.
Mostphotos reserves the right to remove content, change keywords and license types on any uploaded image.

- - You may not upload images that are photographed by someone else.
- - You are not permitted to upload images with offensive content, such as pornographic, racist, or violent scenes. Use your common sense.
- - Nudity/undressed images: Nude photos are OK, but genitalia may not show. All images that are nude, partly nude or otherwise not suitable for children's eyes should be marked as "nude" before you upload them. Sexy lingerie images, sexually provocative posing etc. should be marked as nude.

Vector images
Vector illustrations are very popular among customers. The main reason for this is that they can be upsized indefinitely without losing quality.
Vector file formats Mostphotos supports are: .eps and .ai.
Vector + side jpg
In .eps10 and .ai files iptc data can be embedded directly in the files, but in old .eps8 that is not possible. The solution is to:
1) Export a side .jpg of your vector image where you embed iptc tags in.
2) Each file must be named exactly the same, character for character, except for the extension. For example:
- vector1.jpg
- vector1.eps
3) Upload it to the ftp, in the folder that is called vectorimages
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
Pre-tagged images
The upload system can read the JPEG information and will automatically import the metadata (name, description and nyckelord). You can pre-tag your images in applications such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Lightroom.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
How do I upload images?
To be able to upload images you must first register an account.

In Mediacloud you’re able to select and make changes to several images at once. In Easy Upload you can see the images in a bigger size, which can be good if your images aren’t pre-tagged.
1) Upload images
To upload an image, browse for them in your computer or drag them onto the page. You can upload multiple images at the same time. Supported file formats are .jpg, .eps and .ai.
2) Tagging
In order to publish and sell your images on Mostphotos, you must specify language, name the image, have at least 2 keywords, and choose the license of the image. The other fields are not mandatory. If your images are pre-tagged the tags will be transferred automatically.

Model Release
A model release is a contract in which a model consents to the use of his or her images by the contributor or a third party. This applies not only to professional models but also to anyone that is portrayed in an image.
The contributor is responsible for documenting the model releases and must be prepared to send the documents to buyers if requested. The releases are not in need to be uploaded to Mostphotos by the contributor.
When you publish a photo with a recognizable person or trademark and mark it as commercial royalty-free, you have stated that you in fact have a release.
If you disregard model releases you are acting fraudulently and in clear breach of our terms and conditions.
Contact support@mostphotos.com if you have any more questions or need any help. -
Commercial or Editorial license
All images on Mostphotos are non-exclusive and can therefore be sold repeatedly.
Commercial license means that the contributor has a written agreement (a model release) from all the people, trademark, logo, or companies in the image. What can I do to increase my sales?
Images that are often sold get higher rankings.
Build your portfolio with commercial appropriate images. Be selective in your selection and don't choose too many similar images. A large portfolio with carefully selected material increases the chances of a good sale.
Publish images of good quality. It is possible to zoom in to 100% and when a buyer does that you do not want them to see poor quality.
Providing relevant keywords is very important. The Mostphotos search engine keeps track on the relevance of the keywords.
Please take a tour of our website to learn more about how to increase your sales.

Where do I find my collections?
The purpose of the collection feature is to allow you to gather selected images in one place. Images from the search results, your own as well as images from other contributors can easily be placed in your collections. You find your collections under Menu > images.
All collections get an auto-generated URL address that you can send to friends, colleagues, or customers. People you send the collection to can only see it and now make any changes to it or rename it. You on the other hand, can rename, organize and move images between your different collections.
Your collections are not visible on your portfolio page, hence only those with the correct URL address are able to view it.
Contact us at support@mostphotos.com if you have any further questions. -
How do I create a collection?
You can easily create a collection directly in the search. If you want to create a collection you just click on the plus that appears on the image when you hover it. Then a field will appear on the left side of the page where you’ll see a box where you put the name of the collection and then you click on the collection once more to add the image.
You will find all your collections in the Menu > Images > Collections. You can always share your collection with a link that appears on the top of the collection.
